About the Artist
Lorenzo Edwards is a British Italian artist who was born and raised in Berlin Germany. Lorenzo is currently studying architecture while continuing to follow his passion for painting.
Discovering an early interest for architecture, Lorenzo grew up sketching, and only later in his teens left the strict rules of geometric drawings to enter the world of abstraction.
He doesn’t want to incorporate a clear or distinct philosophy in his art and uses his instinctive creativity and openness to express his emotions and sentiments. Moving away from home and starting his studies during the global pandemic, Lorenzo was met with solitude and pressure which are feelings often reflected in his paintings.
Lorenzo’s art is characterized by the lawless and wild strokes, that leave the observer room for personal interpretation.
Fascinated by the aesthetic of human anatomy, Lorenzo uses bodies as a vessel to carry his artworks message.
Leaving certain details and features unclear or unfinished aims to force the recipient to personally complete the painting, encouraging a very subjective way of analysing and understanding the artwork. Using the body as a basis, Lorenzo experiments with various techniques and colours to create a collection with an immense variety.
